A mock exam is only useful if it copies the exam. For Auxiliar Administrativo del Estado that means a single exercise with two parts, 90 minutes for both and a one-third penalty per mistake. Everything on this page comes from the latest published call, the Resolution of 18 December 2025 (BOE-A-2025-26262), whose exam took place on 23 May 2026, and is verified on the exam page with its date.
What the single exercise looks like
| Part | Content | Questions | Time | Penalty |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| First | 30 questions from block I (public organisation) and 30 psychometric | 60, plus 5 reserve | 90 minutes for both parts | One third of a correct answer |
| Second | Block II: office software (Windows 11 and Microsoft 365) | 50, plus 5 reserve | Included in the 90 minutes | One third of a correct answer |
Three practical consequences:
- Time is shared. Nobody tells you how much to spend on each part. If you get stuck on the psychometric questions, office software runs out of minutes.
- Office software is almost half the exam. 50 questions on Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 versus 30 on the syllabus. It is the most neglected part and the one that decides most.
- Reserve questions count. If the board voids a question, it replaces it with the first reserve. Answer the reserve questions too.
A detail almost nobody looks at: in the event of a tie, the call ranks first by the score of the second part, the office-software one, and then by the correct answers in it. Office software is not only almost half the exam: it also breaks ties.
How it is scored
The usual formula: correct answers minus one third of the mistakes, with blanks at zero. With four options, random answering gives no advantage (the expected value is zero) and ruling out a single option already does. The calculator and the full explanation are in the penalty guide.
How to build a realistic mock exam
An Auxiliar Administrativo del Estado mock exam has to meet five conditions:
- One single 90-minute session with both parts back to back, no break.
- The same quantities: 30 syllabus and 50 office-software questions. The 30 psychometric questions are not in Oposilab, so reserve time for them separately with a psychometric workbook and add them to the clock.
- One-third penalty applied when marking, not just the number of correct answers.
- Marking with the article: every mistake in block I should take you to the article of the Constitution, Law 39/2015 or Law 40/2015 behind it, and every office-software mistake to the specific Windows or Microsoft 365 function.
- A record of three numbers: correct, wrong and blank for each part, week by week.
Oposilab's mock exams for this exam are built with that structure: both parts with the call's number of questions and reserve, a 90-minute timer and the one-third penalty in the marking. Every question shows the explanation and the citation, and mistakes go into spaced repetition.
A time split that works
There is no official split. A reasonable one for 110 questions in 90 minutes is about 45 seconds per question, never slower than that on the first 60: whoever reaches the office-software part with 35 minutes usually finishes it; whoever reaches it with 20 does not. Rehearse it in the mock exam and adjust with your own timings, which are the only ones that count.
Four-week mock exam plan
| Week | Mock exam | What you measure |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | One full exam, without time pressure the first time | Correct, wrong and blank per part |
| 2 | One full timed exam and one office-software only | Time spent on the first part |
| 3 | Two full timed exams | Share of doubts you get right (decide whether to answer more or less) |
| 4 | One full exam on the same weekday and time as the real one | Final raw score compared with week 1 |
Between mock exams, the work is reviewing mistakes: read the article, do not re-read the topic.
When is the next exam
The 2026 public employment offer (Royal Decree 387/2026) includes 1,450 open-access places for Auxiliar Administrativo del Estado. The call must be published before 31 December 2026; the 2025 one came out on 22 December and its exam was on 23 May 2026. As soon as it is published, the exam page shows the definitive date and structure.
- How many questions does the Auxiliar Administrativo del Estado exam have?
- Under the 2025 call, 110 questions plus 10 reserve: 60 in the first part (30 on public organisation and 30 psychometric) and 50 on office software in the second, in 90 minutes for both parts.
- How much does each mistake cost?
- One third of the value of a correct answer in both parts. Blank questions do not subtract.
- Do Oposilab mock exams include psychometric questions?
- No. They include the 30 block I questions and the 50 office-software questions with the official structure. Psychometric questions must be practised with specific material and added to the mock exam time.
- What is the cut-off score?
- It is not known before the exam. Each part is graded from 0 to 50 with a minimum of 25, and the direct score needed to reach it is set by the Permanent Selection Commission according to the results. Rehearse with the real penalty and compare your progress against yourself.
